Title: The Intruder

Media: Acrylic on canvas
Dimensions: 24" W x 30" H
Dated:  March 2018
Price:  $500.00

About:  The title is ambiguous as the Intruder could be the skier or it could be the spruce in the midst of Aspen.  I intended the spruce to be the Intruder.  There is a constant battle for turf going on that we call "plant succession".  If ground is cleared, the Aspen grove will return.  As the Aspen grove matures they create a cool canopy enabling the spruce and fir to begin to move in.  Over the years the spruce and fir will eventually crowd out the Aspen.  Forest fires restart the succession process.
